Special Events
David Eisenhower
The namesake for Camp David, Professor David Eisenhower was the grandson of the late President Dwight David Eisenhower and son-in-law of the late President Richard M. Nixon. Professor Eisenhower, winner of The University of Pennsylvania's annual Provost's Award for Excellence in University Teaching in 2003, addressed Penn Club members at a sold-out event.
Madeleine Albright
Penn Club members met the first foreign-born U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and first female Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright, at this exclusive breakfast. She discussed her position as the highest-ranking woman in American history and the current state of world affairs. Members were lining out the door of the Penn Club awaiting her to autograph their books Madame Secretary: A Memoir!
Joseph E. Stiglitz
Joseph Stiglitz was awarded the 2001 Nobel Prize in economics. He was the chairman of President Clinton's Council on Economic Advisers, and later Vice President and Chief Economist of the World Bank. Members were treated with his economic insights at the Penn Club.

In other words: everything you've ever wanted to know but were afraid to ask. This was one event that appealed to literally every single member, as we've all received this call at one time or another. A truly enlightening event.

Experts were brought in to review members' resumes and provide mock interviews. This event was a big help to members who were looking for a new job but were not sure if their resume was sharp enough or if their interview answers articulate enough.
Getting Yourself Published
With a "real-life" literary agent at the lectern, we learned not only how to find an outlet for our written words, but if being a full-time author was what we really wanted to be!
Women's Health - 35 and Beyond
Extremely informative for every woman who wants to know what happens to her body after 35. Strategies to prevent the onslaught of menopause and osteoperosis were discussed.
Life After Fifty
A panel discussion that focused on health, personal fulfillment, family, finances and community for those members in this rapidly increasing age group.

The Business Breakfast/Networking Series
Past participants have included Oxygen Media, Iron Street Labs, the Let's Talk Business Network and other successful upstarts that have made their marks in their respective fields. This is one of our most popular business forums.
Hedge Fund Panel
For 10 years in a row, the Penn Club hosts a panel discussion featuring the "next generation" of hedge fund leaders. They speak their minds and answer questions in a fast-paced and exciting format. Sophisticated industry professional have come to count on this event as a guide to what the very latest trends are in this industry.
Real Estate Panel
High-profile real estate gurus come together to discuss their career paths and choices they made to get to where they are today. Members get to ask questions and network with some of the top leaders in the real estate industry.

This unique evening was spent untangling the thicket of laws that govern employment relationships in this economy.

Gourmet Gallery
Georges Perrier – Le Bec Fin
Direct from Philadelphia, this world-renowned chef created a menu specifically for Penn Club members. Literally hundreds of appetites were satisfied, and the comments are still coming in!
Terrence Feury – The Striped Bass
Consistently ranked one of the top three restaurants in Philadelphia, members had to travel no further than 44th Street to enjoy the bounty of the seas, prepared by Terrence himself.
Masahur Morimoto – Iron Chef (formerly of Nobu)
Star of the Food Network's Iron Chef, he performed live at the Penn Club with Stephen Starr, one of Philly's (and the country's) top restauranteurs.
Cooking Class with Penn Club's Chef Smoor
Penn Club's Excutive Chef used to be the Executive Chef at the famed Plaza Hotel. He makes his encore performance for our members in this hugely popular cooking class. Class participants learned to make a three-course meal that impressed their guests and even themselves!
Wine Dinner
Enjoy a 4-course dinner, each course accompanied by a different glass of wine that complements your meal. This monthly event is always sold out - reserve early if you want to be a part of it.
Club Night
Similar to the Wine Dinner, Club Nights allow members to be seated together at large round tables so that you have a chance to mingle and get to know other members.
Joe's Stone Crabs
There was no waiting on line as you would in Miami Beach, as these delicious crustaceans were flown in fresh that very same morning. The only things missing were the palm trees!
Abner's Philly Cheesesteaks
Diets and cholesterol counts were completely ignored as hundreds of members took a step back in time at this all-you-can eat, dress-down affair in our Main Dining Room.
Mother's Day Brunch and Thanksgiving Feast
The plates are not yet cleared from the tables when requests for next year's dates start to arrive. These annual events are so popular that they have become tradition for many members and their families.
Cultural / Intellectual
The Art Tours
Madison Avenue, Williamsburg, Chelsea, Soho and the new Christie's headquarters. One of the Club's most popular series, our very own professional guide toured these famous art enclaves on Saturday afternoons. An insider's look at galleries, artist's studios and exhibits that have made Manhattan famous.
Book Group Luncheons
Our professional book discussion leader presented attendees with a reading list that went a step beyond The New York Times Book Review, featuring titles such as Bel Canto by Ann Patchett. Great reading....and great food to fuel the mind.
Theatre Evenings
After enjoying a fabulous pre-theatre dinner in the magnificent Main Dining Room, members were treated to orchestra seats to some of Broadway's hottest shows such as Mama Mia, The Little Mermaid, Spring Awakening, and Grease.
Dinner & Dance
Members got giddy with dancing with our dance instructors, mini-orchestra, and elegant dining in the main dining room.
Salsa Dancing
Members put on their dancing shoes and learned some saucy salsa dancing with dance instructors in the Tarnopol Room.
Grill Room Specials
Young Alumni Happy Hour
Every third Thursday of the month, Penn Club members who are in their 20s (and those who are young at heart!) come by for drink specials at the Grill Room while they mingle, catch up with their peers, and meet new ones.
Steakhouse Night
A wide selection of steaks that cut like butter greets members each Wednesday night at The Grill Room. These mouth-watering dry-aged prime cuts of steak rivals that at Smith & Wollensky's...and come at a fraction of the price!
Taste of Oktoberfest
Members don't need to travel across the pond to celebrate along with the Germans. The month-long beer-fest provides members a chance to taste various Oktoberfest beers.
Quizzo Trivia Night
Members in teams of 6 or fewer test their minds against fellow Penn Club members. Every Thursday is Sink or Swim $2 Yuengling drafts at the Grill Room.
Inter-Ivy
Young Alumni Moonlight Cruise
With the towers of Manhattan as a backdrop, recent grads were treated to unlimited bar snacks, wine, beer and upper-deck schmoozing while circling the most famous island in the world.
Annual Casino Night
By recreating the atmosphere of Vegas and Atlantic City, members were treated to roulette, Black Jack, 21 and all their favorite activities....all in the name of charity. The 6th annual night is already in the planning stages.
All-Ivy "Written in the Stars" Astrological Mixer
With cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at The Cornell Club and dinner at The Princeton Club, those who joined this traveling festival were treated to palm readings, astrological charts and some very special Zodiac punch. Rumor has it that some of the newly formed acquaintances have taken a more serious approach to togetherness!
The Summer Share Expo
Homeowners looking to rent their house for the summer season and those longing to find the perfect getaway gather at this annual event that attracts members from all the Ivy League clubs. This is the perfect alternative to going through a realtor to find the place of your dreams.
The Identity Crisis 35+ Singles Dinner Party
With a sticker on their backs bearing the name of a famous person, participants spent the night meeting new people and listening to clues that helped them learn who they were supposed to be! This new twist on the mixer theme was a huge success.
The All-Ivy Snowball Blacktie Mixer at The Princeton Club
It may be the season for thermal underwear but it couldn't be warmer inside the Princeton Club. Fellow Ivy members killed the chill while sipping champagne by the fireplace.
